Everything workers in residential youth services do, in their work with young people, is about providing quality care for them. This video is based on realistic work situations and shows how accurate observation and recording of information is a key part of that quality of care. Workers are writing about young people and their lives, so objective and non-judgemental recording is essential.

It can be used in the induction and orientation of new staff, as refresher training and for learners undertaking accredited courses in the Community Services Training Package.

The resource also comes with a Trainer Guide and support materials that can be customised for different working and training situations.

Project developed by Fran Haarsma Productions in partnership with Berry Street Victoria. Funded under the Workplace English Language and Literacy (WELL) Program by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
